When I started reading about Korean skincare, two names kept coming up in reviews and skincare subreddits: Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask and Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask. Both promise collagen, hydration, plump skin. Both have loyal followings. Both cost real money.
Instead of reading yet another review from someone whose skin type doesn’t match mine, I decided to test both myself. Two to three weeks each, two to three times a week. Same skin, same evening routine around them, same test.
This isn’t a sponsored post. I’m not an affiliate (yet). I bought both masks myself. I just wanted to know which one was worth the money for my skin — and now I want to share, in case you’ve been wondering the same thing.
My skin — the context you need to know
Before you read further, one important thing: my skin is dry and sensitive, sometimes with redness. That means two things:
-
- My barrier reacts quickly. Whether it’s something too exfoliating, too heavy, or too heavily fragranced — my skin tells me right away.
-
- Hydration is priority #1. Plump, dewy skin isn’t a bonus for me — it’s the foundation everything else stands on.
If your skin is also dry or sensitive, my experience will probably be useful to you. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, my results may differ from yours — and that’s perfectly normal.
The test — how I compared
No complicated methodology. Just:
-
- 2-3 weeks with each mask, not in parallel (so I could isolate the effect)
-
- 2-3 times a week, always in the evening
-
- The same baseline routine around them: cleanser, hyaluronic acid, moisturizer, SPF in the morning
-
- Photos in the same lighting, same angle, no filters
What I tracked: hydration through the day, plumpness, redness, how my skin felt the next morning, and how comfortable the mask itself was on my face.
Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask — what I noticed
The Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask is a jelly-textured sheet mask with collagen and niacinamide as central ingredients. The marketing promises firming and glow.
What I liked:
The first evening went well. The jelly-like texture is pleasant to the touch, and the essence isn’t overwhelming. In the morning, my skin looked a little brighter and had some plumpness — fewer dehydration lines under the eyes.
For a quick glow before an event, the mask does the job. If you have a wedding, a date, or an important photo the next day and you just want your skin to look rested and radiant for one day — Medicube can help.
Where it fell short for me:
Honestly — the mask didn’t suit me for regular use. It was uncomfortable. It didn’t sit on my face stably the way I expected. By the third evening, I was already waiting to take it off rather than enjoying the moment.
And here’s the critical part — in the morning, I had the feeling that my pores were slightly clogged. Not a full-on breakout, no pimples, but that sense that the skin wasn’t breathing. For skin like mine (dry + sensitive), that’s not the signal I expect from a collagen mask.
It’s possible the jelly texture leaves more residue than my skin tolerates. It’s possible it was a bad pairing with my night moisturizer. I’m not making accusations — I’m just describing what happened on my face.
Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask — what I noticed
The Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask is known for its hydrogel material — a dense, jelly-like mask that gradually dissolves into the skin over about an hour. It’s designed as an overnight mask: you put it on before bed, you wake up without it.
What I liked:
I felt the difference the first night. The texture adheres firmly — no slipping, no peeling edges. The morning after the first night, my skin was noticeably plumper, more balanced, with a glow that usually takes me 2-3 nights of normal care to build.
After 2 weeks, the results were more noticeable: fewer dehydration lines, less morning redness, and that “glass skin” look that hydrated skin gives naturally. For overnight deep hydration and natural glow — Biodance was the clear winner in my test.
Where I have reservations:
The mask is a real time commitment — an hour of lying down, or a full night of sleeping with it on your face. It’s not convenient for every scenario. But it’s not a big issue. You go to bed with it, and in the morning you glow.
When each mask wins
This is the real question — not “which is the better mask in the world,” but “for what moment do you use each one.”
Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask wins for:
-
- Overnight deep hydration — when you want to wake up with noticeably plumper, more hydrated skin
-
- Natural glow without makeup — for days when you want your skin to speak instead of your foundation
-
- Dry or dehydrated emergencies — when your skin is flaky after travel, illness, or a weather change
-
- The long haul (my case) — if you’re going to use a mask regularly, this one holds its standard in my experience
For my dry, sensitive skin, Biodance was the keeper. It earned a spot in my regular routine.
Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask wins for:
-
- A quick glow before an event — if you have a specific day when you want your skin to look rested
-
- People whose skin agrees with the jelly texture — my experience isn’t universal, and I know other skin types respond differently
To be fair: for my skin, Medicube didn’t work as a daily choice. I shelved it for specific occasions, not regular use.
My final pick
If I can only buy one — Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask.
That’s not because Medicube is a bad mask. It’s because my skin responded better to Biodance. Someone else with a different skin type could have the exact opposite experience — and that would be equally valid.
What I learned from the test: test it yourself. Reviews are a guide, not a verdict. What works for me — dry, sensitive, sometimes with redness — may not work for you. And vice versa.
A quick note on pricing
I don’t want to throw out specific numbers, because prices shift constantly between retailers and countries — and I don’t want them to be out of date the moment I publish this. But in general terms: at the time of my test, Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask came in at a better price per mask, especially when bought in a multi-pack (4 or 10 masks). The Medicube Pink Collagen Gel Mask was a bit more expensive per mask under the same buying pattern.
That’s not a reason in itself to choose one over the other — but combined with my experience (Biodance worked better for my skin), the value tipped clearly in Biodance’s favor. Before you buy anything, check prices across a few shops — YesStyle, Stylevana, and the official sites often run different promotions.
Disclaimer
I’m not a dermatologist, and I’m not a medical professional. What I’m sharing is my personal experience with these two products over about six weeks of testing. Everyone’s skin is different — if you have serious skin concerns, talk to a dermatologist.
None of the opinions above are sponsored. None of these products were sent to me for free. I bought them myself.
Where to look
For now, I’m not approved for affiliate links — when I am, I’ll add them here. Until then, here’s where to start looking:
-
- Biodance Bio-Collagen Real Deep Mask → the official Biodance site, YesStyle, Stylevana, Amazon
-
- Medicube PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask → the official Medicube site, YesStyle, Sephora
Prices vary across retailers — I’d recommend comparing before you buy, especially on multi-mask packs (which often make the per-mask cost significantly better).
If you’ve tested these two masks too, I’d love to hear your experience — does it match mine, or do you have a different take? Every skin is different, and we all learn something new from honest comparisons.
